        Love Is the Solution

Dear Kate,

I would like to share my thoughts with  you about Zaghi, Love Is the Solution, and the reason for Zaghi's recent stroke.

I have known Zaghi, founder of Love Is the Solution, for over twenty years.  I absolutely understand his faith and his commitment to individual happiness and world peace, and that is why, although I am extremely busy with my company, and have responsibility for several people in leadership training for many years, I am committed to making a difference in the world.  I am supporting this project all the way.

Zaghi's peace project is definitely the only choice in terms of real, practical solutions toward peace.

Zaghi cannot relax until he sees peace in the world.  He has worked tirelessly and ceaselessly for the cause of peace education. The incredible degree of intensity and strength of his dedication to this cause reminds me of Gandhi's when he carried out his hunger strikes on behalf of his mission against political violence in his country.  I understand that this is a huge project, and that it will take a hundred years to reach real peace.  The real problem here is that Zaghi does not want to acknowledge or accept his limitations.  This is a peace project.  Contained within this peace project lie hundreds of other projects - each personal encounter, each event, each testimonial - all are projects with the project.

I am sending this email to update you on what happened after we got back to Miami after the Oceans of Gratitude cruise we have just completed,.

As you know, I had to cancel many appointments in my office, and cancel an important trip which had been very long in the planning, in order to participate in the Oceans of Gratitude trip.  I did this because Zaghi was so insistent that I join him, I could not refuse.  I made many changes to adjust my schedule.  Finally, I made it work.  On the cruise, Zaghi was extremely active every moment during an entire week of seminars.  I noticed that he hardly ate or slept, but constantly spent countless hours in conversation with individuals and with groups of people.  He did not want to miss a single opportunity to share his project and ideas with others on the cruise.  It was unbelievable - impossible to make him believe that he needed to rest.  Truly, when Zaghi had the stroke, I was not surprised, as it was so obvious that he had no awareness of his limits.  He simply kept going, sharing his urgent and important message of peace.

After we returned from the cruise, and arrived at our hotel, it was clear that Zaghi was in trouble - he could not speak clearly nor walk straight, and a few times he lost his balance and fell against the walls and doors.  It was clear that he needed medical attention immediately.  I asked the reception desk about in-house medical facility.  They said there was none and we must call 911.  Zaghi insisted that he wanted to lay down in his room, which he did.  The next day, his cardiologist brother and other doctors tested him and could see that he had had a stroke.  The doctors could not believe how he had survived. It was a miracle, more so when they looked into his medical history and discovered that he had undergone an aortic dissection.  The doctors were amazed that he had survived this stroke.

It was at that moment that I learned that Zaghi had in fact survived three major health emergencies, the aortic dissection, cancer, and now this stroke. Any one of these could have been fatal.

The Creator saved him for some reason.  The doctors believe that as well.

Kate, we both know that Zaghi has devoted his life to the cause of world peace, to the detriment of his family, friends, and health.  His health was, and is, clearly an issue for everyone, and after this event, his involvement and activity must change in a major way.

All of us, his wife Ashraf, his brother Eddy Zaghi, his family, and myself have had long talks with him regarding his health issues and this stroke.  It is time for him  to accept his physical/health limits.  Thank God this stroke did not do major damage to his brain or body. Zaghi has finally realized and admitted that he has limits. He has made a decision to apply Love Is the Solution principles to his problem, and you have his statement regarding this.

Zaghi is under orders from the doctors at JFK Hospital in Florida, to follow up with further tests in the Bay area.  The doctors want him to protect himself from additional strokes.

If he does not accept his limits, and if he cannot control his stress, his blood pressure, and his communication (do it calmly, not over-emotional or argumentative), then we will probably lose him.

He is a very important person to us and to peace in the world.  We all know the world needs such a person.  I can see how his project can save the world.

Kate, I suggest we all try to help him understand his limits.  I believe his mission at this point must be to write about the project and offer it to the world by finding another organization to make it happen.  I will do everything in my power to make this come to pass.

May Zaghi's spirit and message of love, peace, fairness, acceptance and doing your best touch the life and heart of everyone.
